More than sets: loose figures, part lots, books and magazines
Record loose minifigures, lots of loose parts and your books and magazines beside your sets – each with its condition, and every part counted together.
Your collection holds more than sets. A loose minifigure is a copy of its own, with its condition. A part lot is one part in one colour with a quantity and a condition – a tub of red 2×4 bricks, say. Books and magazine issues are copies too, with a grade and the polybag or figure they came with. Minifigures and part lots each have their own list beside your sets, and each list also shows what is inside the sets you own. The parts and minifigures view adds it all up – loose and inside sets – and filters by colour, category, condition and where a part came from. A figure you want to keep whole can be kept out of the build check.

How do I record loose LEGO minifigures and parts?
Open a minifigure in the catalogue and choose "Add to collection", or open a part and choose "Add loose lot". A minifigure copy keeps its condition; a part lot keeps the part, its colour, how many you have and their condition. Both can be put in a storage place and kept in any of your collections. The minifigures and part lots lists show your loose copies and, below them, what the catalogue says your sets contain.
Does BrickDb count every part I own?
Yes. The parts and minifigures view counts every part you own – your loose lots, the parts of your sets and the parts of your minifigures – each marked with where it came from, and filters them by colour, category, condition or source. A book or magazine whose contents BrickDb does not know yet is named there, so you can see what is not counted. The build check reads the same count to say what your parts can build.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add loose LEGO® minifigures to my collection?
Yes. Every minifigure in the catalogue can be added as a loose copy with its own condition, and the figures inside your sets are listed beside your loose ones.
How do I keep track of loose LEGO parts?
Add them as part lots: one part in one colour, with how many you have and their condition. BrickDb counts them together with the parts of your sets and figures.
Can I keep a minifigure out of the build check?
Yes. Mark the minifigure, and build checks will never take parts from it.
